I recently decided to buy a second hand 3rd generation Lenovo X1 from ebay as an experimental machine. I had plans, like upgrading the SDD and putting more RAM in (it only came with 4GB), but I should have researched a little harder as my desire to get a slim machine mean that the RAM can’t be upgraded. I can do the SDD though, should I want to, and I think I’ll be able to get by with 4GB of RAM. For a while at least.
I had originally intended to put Linux on the machine and experiment with that, but after a quick installation of PopOS! I’m back on Windows 10.
I’m probably going to play around with using the machine as a light weight dev machine, but I’m not really sure what it’s future will be at this stage.
